Culture and society in focus (presentation of ILSCR)
On May 12 the presentation of the International Scientific-Educational Laboratory for Socio-Cultural Research (ILSCR) was held at the scientific seminar "Culture matters" in the lecture hall of HSE Professors' club.
Laboratory staff study the most actual and deep problems of modern society, create workshops, write books and articles under the assistance of leading Russian and foreign scientists. ILSCR is the unique international laboratory. English-language master's double degree program with Tilburg University "Applied Social Psychology" was created on the base of the laboratory. During the discussion participants learnt more about opportunities to participate in scientific activities of the laboratory and admission to the program.
ILSCR staff told about the peculiarities of integration of migrants — the representatives of different countries and cultures in Russian society.
The problem of interaction between representatives of different countries and cultures has been one of the most important in the modern world for many years. How do cultural migrants integrate into Russian society? What has a stronger impact on the formation of values and identity — the family or the environment? Is it true that creativity due to the predominance of certain values and cultural context? What has the impact on effectiveness of actions to open your own business? What are the psychological effects of poverty?
These and many other interesting and important research questions were discussed with the ILSCR staff.
The moderator of the meeting was the head of the laboratory Nadezhda Lebedeva. In the presentation of the laboratory also took part following laboratory staff members: leading researcher Alexander Tatarko, senior researcher Victoria Galyapina, senior researcher Zarina Lepshokova, junior researcher Olga Poluektova.
