Relationships of intercultural friendly contacts and social identities with psychological well-being: A study of Russians in the North and South Caucasus

On January 31 Victoria Galyapina (PhD) took part in the "Culture matters" research seminar with the report "Relationships of intercultural friendly contacts and social identities with psychological well-being: A study of Russians in the North and South Caucasus".

In recent years, researchers have noted an increase in the prevalence of cross-cultural friendships. In general, the study showed that intercultural friendly contacts predict the psychological well-being of members of an ethnic minority, both directly and through ethnic identity and identification with a wide society in contexts of different cultural diversity, with a high proportion of ethnic minorities and with favorable intercultural relations.
