Representations of Russians about typical and ideal Russian
On April 30 Trifonova Anastasia Valentinovna (Research Assistant, CSCR, HSE) took part in the "Culture matters" research seminar with the report "Representations of Russians about typical and ideal Russian".
The report presented the results of a study aimed at studying the relationship of the values of Russians with their ideas about the values of a typical and ideal Russian. The study participants (297 people) answered the questions of the Schwartz portrait value questionnaire (PVQ-21) three times: evaluating themselves, typical and ideal Russian. Using the method of analysis of latent profiles, we identified groups of respondents with different patterns of relationships between the three types of values. The results obtained revealed the role of religiosity and socio-economic status in the ideas of Russians about typical and ideal Russian.
