Social perceptions of success among modern Muslims

On December 24 Valeria Shorokhova (PhD in Psychology, Associate Professor, Department of Ethnopsychology and Psychological Problems of Multicultural Education, MSUPE) took part in the "Culture matters" research seminar with the report "Social perceptions of success among modern Muslims".

Today we live in a society that unites representatives of various cultures and religions. Among them, Islam occupies one of the first places in terms of prevalence in the territory of the Russian Federation. For modern Muslims, it may be significant how to realize and implement their own goals and aspirations. It seems possible to study the reflection of such self-realization through the concept of success and social ideas about it. The results of the study showed that the structure of Muslims' social ideas about success, a successful man and a successful woman can be different depending on gender.
