In April 2013 researchers of International Scientific-Educational Laboratory for Socio-Cultural Research - Nadezhda Lebedeva, Alexander Tatarko and Tatiana Ryabichenko - took part in international interdisciplinary conference "Migration: Global Development, New Frontiers" in the UK (London). Organizers of the conference were:

- Norface Migration (NORFACE - New Opportunities for Research Funding Co-operation in Europe) - organization uniting together experts in the field of social sciences from 12 countries,

- CReAM (Centre for Research and Analysis of Migration) - independent interdisciplinary migration research center, based on the Faculty of Economics, University College of London,

- UCL - University College of London.
This conference has become a basis for discussing and exchanging views on migration issues, not only for scientists - specialists of economic, sociological and psychological sciences from around the world, but also for representatives of UN, World Bank, ministries and departments directly related to migration. 
Program of the conference included a great number of topics. There were special sections on education and integration of migrants' children, influence of migration on labor market, migration and skills development, migration flows, transnational networks, marriage, family, identity, integration, assimilation, and many others. Large discussions were not only about presented latest research findings on migration, but also about applied issues, as well as the methodology.
The ideas of ​​cooperation and collaborative research with scientists from other countries were discussed during the conference. Implementation of these ideas might be very important for development of migration researches in Russia.
