Holiday excess mortality as a behavioral problem
On March 9, 2023, at a regular seminar of the Center for Sociocultural Research at the National Research University Higher School of Economics, Alexander Nemtsov, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Leading Researcher of the Psychological Institute of the Russian Academy of Education, made a report on the topic: "Excessive mortality on holidays as a behavioral problem"
The speaker showed the mortality graphs of the population of Russia for the last few years, argued the peaks of mortality during the month, year, during official holidays. Mortality rates in Russia and Europe were also compared. The Russian context was analyzed and measures to prevent mortality were proposed. The report caused a lively response from the listeners, a discussion was initiated between representatives of different schools. Of course, the topic is relevant and such studies are necessary to study the cultural patterns and mechanisms of alcohol consumption, as well as the formation of adequate attitudes among the younger generation.
