The 5 th Summer School “Analyzing and reporting cross-cultural data”
On June 11-14, the fifth ISEL SCR summer school was held near Moscow. The summer school was dedicated to group work on the participants’ research project.
The work was guided by distinguished scientists in the fields of cross-cultural psychology and methodology of cross-cultural research: Seger Breugelmans (Tilburg University, Netherlands), Fons van de Vijver (Tilburg University, Netherlands), and Shalom Schwartz (Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel).
The work was organized into three streams: value transmission, social capital and economic behavior, and intergroup relations. The participants were divided into three groups, and within those groups they presented their projects and worked on the projects of others. Each of the professors spent time with each of the three groups.
Unlike previous summer schools, the fifth school did not include lectures and seminars and instead was focused on the participants’ research projects. Most effort was put into the methodological aspects of the ongoing projects and theoretical basis for project proposals.
During the summer school, every participant received valuable feedback on their research project from leading scientists in the field and from their colleagues.
