The role of Cossacks in the formation of the Russian nation

On March 21 Bredikhin Anton Viktorovich took part in the "Culture matters" research seminar with the report on "The role of Cossacks in the formation of the Russian nation".

Modern Russian Cossacks united 11 military Cossack communities and a number of public associations of the Cossacks. In many ways, they are multinational in nature: as a part of Cossack Army Society "Grand Don Army" has a Kalmyk county Cossack community in the Terek Cossack Army Society consists of Ossetians and Ingush in the Trans-Baikal Cossack Army Society has Buryats and in the Orenburg Cossack Army Nagaybaks society. In the Cossack cadet corps Don, Kuban and Terek are trained not only to the little Cossacks, but also representatives of Turkic and Caucasian peoples. Patriotism, love of Russia, the civil service, active participation in the development of civil society - all this contributes to the Cossacks actively participate in the creation of the Russian nation.
