The culture of communication in the digital environment (on the example of sociopolitical topics)
On June 2 Alexandra Fakhretdinova (PhD, Researcher, Educational and Research Laboratory of Experimental Psychology, Faculty of Psychology, NI Tomsk State University) took part in the "Culture matters" research seminar with the report "The culture of communication in the digital environment (on the example of sociopolitical topics)".
The era of Digital Revolution determined the transformation of all spheres of human life, actualizing the problem of searching, forming, preserving and defending oneself, as well as one’s citizenship and identity, in a dynamic, rapidly changing world of global all-encompassing digitalization. Strengthening, expanding the processes of digitalization and globalization give rise to a gap between the increasing immersion of a person in the digital space, the unformed culture of the digital world and the limited ability of the individual to choose, control, and manage the digital environment. A continuous uncontrolled information flow constantly circulates and changes in the Internet space, influencing the individual picture of the world of the network user, his value orientations; negatively affects the mass consciousness, public opinion, mood, attitudes and stereotypes. In this regard, the study of the role of social networks and the blogosphere in the formation of values and meanings that influence the construction of the image of the future of Russia by young people is a relevant and little-studied aspect of virtual network communications.
The report presented the experience of researching the content of social networks and the peculiarities of its perception by users on the example of sociopolitical topics (the study was supported by the Russian Science Foundation grant 22-28-01800).
