The regular workshop of the series "Culture Matters"  was held on 24th November. Prof. Andrey Belik (Center for Ethnopolitical Research, Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology, leading research associate) made the report "Impact of culture on economic behavior".

The regular seminar of the ILSCR “Culture matters” took place on 17th November. The speaker was Ronald Fisher, senior lecturer at Victoria University (Wellington, New Zealand), with a lecture "What is more important for well-being: money or autonomy?".

On October 20th a public lecture "Psychological adjustment and cultural identities of immigrant adolescents" by Eugene Tartakovsky, a professor at the University of Tel-Aviv (Israel) was held in Psychology Department within the scientific seminar “Culture matters”.

October 13th held a regular scientific seminar of the series "Culture Matters". A presentation “Comparative study of methods measuring values or “If we've got questions, then they've got answers” was made by Dmitry Podolsky, Ph.D., senior researcher at Moscow State University.

A review of current trends in the development of future leaders: cross-cultural studies of leadership

The regular seminar of the International Scientific-Educational Laboratory of Socio-Cultural Research “Culture matters” took place on 23th September. The lecture was delivered by Meena Surie Wilson (PhD, Senior Enterprise Associate, CCL), a member of the research team of the international consulting company CCL (Center for Creative Leadership), known worldwide for its leadership development programs. Meena Surie Wilson made a presentation "Development of future leaders today from the standpoint of China, India, Singapore and the United States". Another short report at the seminar was made by Regina Eckert (PhD, Senior Research Associate, CCL EMEA). Her theme was also associated with cross-cultural psychology: "The Importance of Expectation-Perception Fit for Leadership Effectiveness across Cultures".

The cultural dimension of tightness - looseness: some recent applications

Professor Anu Realo (Department of Psychology, University of Tartu) made a presentation “The cultural dimension of tightness - looseness: some recent applications” at the scientific seminar of the International Laboratory of Socio-Cultural Research on 21st September. She presented results of the research conducted in 33 countries.

Course by S. Schwartz “Using Basic Human Values to Understand Individual Behavior”

Shalom Schwartz, the scientific supervisor of the International Laboratory of Socio-Cultural Research, conducted a course "Using Basic Human Values ​​to Understand Individual Behavior" for Master students of the program "Applied Social Psychology" on 12-15th September.

I Summer School “Values and Socio-Economical Behaviour: Cross-cultural Dimensions and Explanatory Models”: interviews with participants

In the end of the Summer School researchers of the International Scientific-Educational Laboratory of Socio-Cultural Research interviewed professors Eldad Davidov, Valery Chirkov, Shalom Schwarts, Emiko Kashima, Nadezhda Lebedeva, Peter Schmidt, Adam Cohen. During the interview experts described their impressions of the event and offered their ideas about the organization of future Summer Schools.

S. Schwartz: Reflections and future direction of the ILSCR in the light of summer school and mini-conference

In June, 28 at the seminar of the International SEL of sociocultural research were discussed the results of last summer school devoted to the measurement of values and socio-economic behavior. Seminar participants had the opportunity to watch the videos of interviews conducted with foreign experts who participated in the summer school.
